Calgary Learns funding is made possible through a grant from Alberta Advanced Education and Technology. Funding allocations are aligned with our vision of creating an equitable community where adult learners can fully participate with enhanced confidence and capacity.
Calgary Learns provides both annual and multi-year funding to non-profit community-focused organizations for a diverse range of foundational learning opportunities for adults
Calgary Learns provides 2 types of Funding:
Calgary Learns funds innovative projects that support non-credit learning in the following 4 programming categories Adult Basic Literacy, English as a Second Language, Employment Enhancement & Community Issues
Calgary Learns strives to meet the following goals:
- Improve the accessibility of learning opportunities in Calgary for individuals with financial barriers
- Provide opportunities for adult Calgarians to acquire foundational skills such as literacy and English as a Second Language
- Address education, training and learning gaps in Calgary
- Mobilize community volunteers and other resources in support of learning
- Contribute to solving individual and community problems through learning initiatives, in coordination and cooperation with related organizations
