Program Funding

The 2017/18 funding call is closed. The 2018/19 funding call will open early Fall 2017.

Calgary Learns funds non-profit organizations to provide foundational learning opportunities for adult Calgarians who face economic barriers to learning. Program funding supports renewable grants for foundational learning programs delivered directly to adult learners. Review the Request for Proposals and applicable Application Form (NEW programs or CURRENTLY funded programs) to determine your organization’s eligibility for funding and our requirements for a successful grant. See our Funding FAQs for more information on proposal development and requirements. If you have further questions or if you meet all requirements and plan to apply for the first time, please connect with Grants Coordinator Jeannie Finch at (403.266.6444, ext. 2) before starting an application.

  • Proposals are now due mid-January each year
  • Program funding is renewable annually (July to June) to deliver foundational adult learning
  • Programs must be non-credit and part-time, operate within the city of Calgary and serve Calgarians over 18 years of age who experience financial barriers
  • All applicants are welcome to meet with grant staff for valuable feedback on draft proposals
  • We have set aside November 28 through December 9 for draft proposal preview appointments. Contact Jeannie Finch (403.266.6444, ext. 2) to book
