Calgary Learns funds innovative projects that support non-credit learning in the following programming areas.
Adult Basic Literacy |
Increasing functional reading, writing and numeracy skills up to a grade nine level of competency. |
English as a Second Language |
Improving basic proficiency in the English language. Preference will be given to programs that address low literacy or post benchmark 5 needs (international students are not eligible). |
Community Issues |
Resolving identified community issues. |
Employment Enhancement |
Refreshing skills, updating, short-term training or bridging to employment (These opportunities must not duplicate local programs and services supported by Alberta Human Resources and Employment). |
