Program Funding Selection & Terms

Selection criteria

Calgary Learns currently gives preference to programs that demonstrate one or more of the following criteria. We edit this list each year based on our ongoing needs assessment.

  • A holistic, learner-centred approach that incorporates adult learning principles
  • Collaboration with other service providers or representatives of the targeted population
  • A design that allows for the participation of the working poor
  • The mobilization of volunteers to support barriered learners

 

  • An attendance to learner accessibility barriers
  • The enhancement of learner self-esteem and self-advocacy skills
  • Pathways for transition to and from related programs or next steps
  • Attention to diversity: the participation and/or integration of marginalized groups

General Terms

In accepting Calgary Learns funding, the receiving organization must:

Calgary Learns cannot allocate more than 15 per cent of its annual funding budget to any one agency.
